SurveyUSA (9/14-16, likely voters, 5/30-6/1 in parens):
Tom Udall (D): 56 (60)
Steve Pearce (R): 41 (35)
We’ll post the full crosstabs when SUSA releases them, but this is looking good. Udall leads Pearce by a whopping 20 points among women voters, and has a 2-to-1 lead among independents. The findings closely mirror a DSCC internal poll released today showing Udall leading by 16 points. (Update: Crosstabs are available here.)
Even more good news for Democrats: Obama leads McCain in New Mexico by 52-44 according to the same round of polling.
I thought teh talking heads said the brown people wouldn’t vote for the black guy!!!
Seriously, this is exactly what I expect in New Mexico, and I take it a lot more seriously than Rasmussen’s last poll which oddly gave Obama only a six-point lead among hispanics (I live in New Mexico, and I always knew that was a bunch of horse-shit, btw).
Scarily close to his internal. Dems have really, really good pollsters working for them this cycle it seems.
Is safe for Obama and Udall
On a sour note it looks like I’ve made my last round of donations for awhile. As I’ve said before I work in the financial sector (Mutual Fund Administrator), and while my company has weathered the storm better than most large financial institutions I’m getting worried. Worried to the point that I’m going to save up some cash incase the worst happens and my company starts laying people off or worse. It sucks, but the market really is THAT bad.
Hopefully this long national nightmare ends soon and Obama and company can begin right this economy. Though it’s getting to the point that no politician can easily fix the mess we’re all in. Uggg…
It’s amazing, but right now Democrats are in contention in nine races: the big four of VA/NM/NH/CO, plus NC/OR/MN/AK, where our guys are tied or have a slight lead, and MS, where Musgrove is well positioned to win if the black vote can break 39%.
In other news, our friend Don Young has finally been declared the winner of his primary, by all of 304 votes, though a recount is on the way, I’d bet. That’ll take another ten days from them.

I mean last week it seemed as if every poll was shitty for us. And then, lo and behold, this week they look exactly the same as they did before the conventions.
I wonder if pollsters were looking for a GOP convention bounce and found one regardless of whether it was real. Did Obama-McCain really swing 8-10 points over the last 7 days? Give me a f*cking break already. I haven’t met a single person who has changed their mind twice in the last week. Not one! (On another note, I met a libertarian today who is going all out for Obama. Felt pretty good about that.)
We all know Tom Udall is going to win here. I just wish that the polls would consistently get it right.
For the Senate race and the Presidential race
